Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 August 2026

This policy explains what personal information Updatly collects through this website (updatly.co.uk), why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. We've written it in plain English.

1. Who we are

Updatly ("we", "us", "our") provides daily site reporting over WhatsApp for construction and trades teams. For the purposes of UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), the data controller is Updatly Limited (company number 17330167), whose registered office is Mala Wala, Birds Drove, Surfleet, Spalding, PE11 4BE, United Kingdom. Our registration with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) is in progress (application reference C2016474), and we will publish the registration number here once it is issued.

If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at hello@updatly.co.uk.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

When you complete the demo / booking form on this site, we collect the details you provide: your name, business name, email address, WhatsApp/mobile number, your trade, the tools you currently use, roughly what you spend on tools each month, and anything you type into the message field. If you message our WhatsApp demo line, we receive your WhatsApp number and the content of your messages.

Information we collect automatically

When you visit the site we collect limited usage information — such as the pages you view, the approximate region you visit from, the type of device and browser you use, and the site or link that referred you. How this is collected depends on the analytics tools described in section 4.

3. How and why we use it

4. Cookies & analytics

We use the following analytics and measurement tools on this website:

ToolUses cookies?What it does
Plausible AnalyticsNoPrivacy-friendly, cookieless website analytics. It counts visits and page views in aggregate and does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track you across other websites. Data is processed within the EU.
Google Analytics 4YesGoogle's analytics service, used on our main landing pages. It sets cookies and collects usage data (such as pages viewed and device/browser information) to help us understand site traffic.
Meta PixelYesProvided by Meta (Facebook/Instagram). It sets cookies and helps us measure the effectiveness of our advertising and reach relevant audiences on Meta's platforms.
YouTube (Google Ireland)YesUsed on our demos and partner programme pages to show short demo videos. Video thumbnails are served from YouTube’s image host when those pages load, which sets no cookies but does tell Google your IP address. No video player loads until you click to play one, and we use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode; on the partner page, if you have declined optional cookies we ask you again before the player loads.

Plausible needs no consent because it sets no cookies and collects no personal data. Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel do set cookies; where required, we will only use them with your consent, and you can withdraw consent at any time by adjusting your browser settings or contacting us. You can also control cookies through your browser and opt out of Meta's ad personalisation in your Meta account settings.

5. Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that help us run Updatly, each acting under contract on our behalf:

We may also disclose information where required by law.

6. International transfers

Some of these providers are based outside the UK (for example in the United States). Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum or the providers' equivalent approved mechanisms. Plausible processes data within the EU.

7. How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and contact details for as long as needed to deal with your request and, where you've agreed to marketing, until you unsubscribe — after which we remove or anonymise them. Aggregated analytics data that doesn't identify you may be kept for longer.

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; ask us to correct it; ask us to delete it; object to or restrict how we use it; withdraw consent at any time; and request a copy of your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these, email hello@updatly.co.uk.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
