Is the Founding 50 a cut down version of Updatly?

Do my crew need to download anything?

No. It runs on the WhatsApp already on every phone. Nothing to install, no logins, no new app.

We'd rather have fifty firms who tell us the truth.

Updatly has been live on real sites since July. Ten projects report in daily and the reports write themselves. What we haven't got yet is fifty different firms, working fifty different ways, willing to tell us when it gets something wrong. That is worth more to us than the difference in price.

You shape what gets built.

What goes on the roadmap for the next year comes out of these fifty firms. Founding members get asked first, and asked properly, not through a feedback form nobody reads.

Tell us when it's wrong.

Fifteen minutes on the phone once a quarter, and the unvarnished version. If the lads are ignoring a flow, or a report reads like nonsense, we want to hear that far more than we want to hear it's lovely.

If it works, say so.

A line we can quote, or an introduction to somebody else in your trade. Only if it has actually earned it. This one is a hope, not a condition, and nothing happens to your rate either way.

Is it a cut down version?

What's the catch?

We want fifty firms who will use it on real jobs and tell us honestly where it falls down. That's the trade. The three things we ask for are on this page and none of them are written into a contract.

Why only fifty?

Because fifty is roughly what we can look after properly at this size, and because a founding rate that never closes isn't a founding rate, it's just the price. When they're gone, they're gone.

What if you put your prices up?

Then it doesn't reach you. That is exactly what you're locking in, and it's the part that gets more valuable the longer you stay.

You're a small company. What happens if you get bought, or you don't make it?

A fair question and we'd rather answer it than dodge it. Updatly Limited is a real company, live and trading, currently raising to grow. Your data is yours: it sits in your account, you can export it whenever you like, and the WhatsApp number stays yours because it always was. Nothing you build here is trapped.

I've only got a handful of lads. Am I too small?

It starts earning its keep at around five people on site, or two or three jobs running at once. Under that, tell us straight on the call and we'll tell you honestly whether it's worth your fifty quid yet. We'd rather say not yet than take it.
